A bare wooden bench top lets screws bounce and roll away. We supply our 7808-B mat in white to give small dark movement parts immediate contrast under the lamp. The material stays flat, yields slightly under tool tips, and grips the wood beneath it.
White working field
The pale face shows dark pivots, blued screws, and steel pinions clearly. You spend less time searching with a loupe when parts remain distinct against the background.
Soft flexible sheet
The top surface gives slightly when a bridge or dial rests on it. That slight yield stops loose parts from skittering across the table during casing and inspection.
