| Bench job | Working on the movement |
A worn screwdriver blade ruins bridge screws and mars movement plates. We ground this 1.4 mm flat blade as a direct replacement for our 30080 and 30081 screwdriver handles. The tip is dressed flat to seat deep in the slot of a matching screw head.
Blade profile
We grind the parallel flats on this 1.4 mm steel blade so the face meets both walls of the screw slot. It seats squarely rather than wedging at the top edges.
Handle fit
The shank slides directly into the collet of our 30080 and 30081 handles. Tightening the set screw locks the blade firmly against the body with no axial play.
Workshop color code
We match the 1.4 mm size to our grey identifier band. Keeping the sizes aligned across your bench carousel means your hand finds the right width without measuring.
Changing the tip
Loosen the small grub screw on the screwdriver body and draw the old point out. Insert this replacement until it bottoms out, then clamp it tight.

A note that touches this tool
Reading a catalogue number
What the parts of a Bergeon reference number mean, why the number is how a tool is asked for, how a suffix marks a size or a variant of the same family, and how to find the spare blade for a handle you already own.
Choosing a blade width
Why a screwdriver is chosen by the width of its blade rather than by its name, what happens to a screw head when the blade is a step too narrow, how the blades are stepped through the range, and how a worn blade is dressed or swapped.
