| What it is | A tool in its own right |
| Bench job | Changing a strap or bracelet |
This is the replacement 0.85 mm pin for our 6819 bracelet pliers. Pins take direct shear force against tight friction tubes and will eventually bend or mushroom under heavy bench use. We turn this tip to swap directly into the plier jaw so the tool returns to true alignment.
The tip diameter
We turn the working end to 0.85 mm so it enters bracelet link holes cleanly. It bears flat against the friction pin without wedging into the link wall.
Mounting the pin
The base seats squarely into the jaw of our 6819 pliers. Tightening the clamping screw locks the shoulder straight, keeping your driving stroke on axis.
Stainless steel stock
We turn these replacement pins from stainless steel so the narrow shaft resists bending under steady hand pressure. The face is dressed flat to avoid skating off the pin end.
Changing worn points
Keep spare pins in your bench drawer before an awkward link bends the tip in the tool. Swapping the point takes a moment with your bench screwdriver.

A note that touches this tool
Changing a strap at the lugs
The order of work when a strap or bracelet comes off: which end of the spring bar tool does what, the difference between a fork end and a pin end, drilled lugs against closed lugs, and why the bracelet is held rather than gripped.
