A worn blade throws off the feel of the driver against fine movement screws. We turn and grind these 0.8 mm spare blades in stainless steel to fit our 6899 series handles. Keep them in the bench drawer until the working tip shows wear.
Grinding the tip
We grind the parallel flats down to 0.8 mm so the steel fills the slot of small bridge screws. The profile sits squarely without rocking on the slot bottom.
Stainless steel stock
We turn each replacement blade from stainless steel rod. The working edges remain crisp as you back out bridge screws and train wheel jewels across a full service.
Fitting the ferrule
Loosen the set screw on your 6899 handle to slide the tired tip out. Seat the replacement blade fully against the stop inside the ferrule and snug the screw.
Color band matching
The color band matches the 0.8 mm sizing standard used across our bench racks. You identify the correct replacement tip immediately without reaching for the micrometer.
