We turn the body of the 2611-TN loupe with an air vent in the side wall to let heat escape while you work over a movement. The biconvex lens sits square to the eye socket. It provides 6.7X magnification for examining jewel holes, pivots, and wheel teeth without crowding your tweezers.
Biconvex optical lens
The biconvex lens gives 6.7X magnification across the central field. It sits firmly seated in the turned housing, providing the optical clarity needed when inspecting escapement pallets or checking the endshake of a train wheel.
Air vent hole
A hole pierced through the side wall allows air to circulate between your eye and the glass. This vent limits moisture buildup on the inner face of the lens during long sessions at the bench.
Body shape and seat
The outer cup is shaped to rest directly in the orbit of the eye. Its rim is turned smooth so the loupe stays in place without requiring excessive muscle tension across the brow.
Bench storage
Store the loupe lens-up on your bench mat or under an eyeglass dome to keep airborne grit off the optical surfaces. Clean the glass with a dry lens cloth rather than solvents.
