We turn this sizing stick from anodized aluminium with a brushed matt body. A ring slides down the tapered cone until it seats against the body, aligning with the marked graduations without rocking. We cut relief channels along the length so stone settings pass down the taper cleanly.
Four marked scales
The stick carries four distinct reference lines along its body. We engrave circumference from 41 mm to 76 mm, diameter from 13 mm to 24.2 mm, French sizes 1 to 36, and US sizes 1 to 15 directly into the metal.
Relieved cone profile
Longitudinal grooves run down the length of the tapered shaft. These cutouts give clearance for gem settings, letting the inner metal band sit flat against the cone rather than cocking sideways on a protruding mount.
Anodized aluminium body
The matt anodized surface keeps numbers clear under bench lighting. It gives the stick a dry grip in the hand while checking sizes at the bench, and wipes clean with a dry cloth when work is done.
Bench storage
The solid metal core rests on the tool rack or inside a bench drawer when not in use. Keeping the tapered face clean of grit keeps the marked sizing scales sharp and legible over years of measuring.
