What it isA tool in its own right
Bench jobChanging a strap or bracelet

We cut the handle with knurled grip bands where the index finger and thumb meet the barrel. One end takes a pointed pin pusher, while the other holds a fine forked tip for catching spring bar shoulders. Each threaded end unscrews when a tip wears down or requires a different profile.

Reversible tips

The barrel carries a pointed pin at one end and a fine fork at the other. Both tips thread directly into the handle body, so you can change or replace them when worn.

Knurled barrel

We cut raised bands along the metal handle where your fingers seat. The textured surface gives purchase when you compress a stiff spring bar inside the lug recess.

Fine fork profile

The small fork is shaped to slip between the strap edge and the inner lug wall. It seats against the shoulder of the spring bar so you can lever it back.

Pointed end

The opposite end carries a cylindrical pin tip. It seats into drilled lug holes from the outside of the case to depress the spring bar pivot cleanly.

Changing a strap at the lugs

The order of work when a strap or bracelet comes off: which end of the spring bar tool does what, the difference between a fork end and a pin end, drilled lugs against closed lugs, and why the bracelet is held rather than gripped.
