Movement bridge and ratchet screws need firm downward purchase. We shape the 30081-TAM-140 with an enlarged drum barrel section so the fingers find a broad grip while the index finger rests on the swivel head. The 1.40 mm blade is ground flat to seat square into the slot.
Drum barrel handle
The thickened middle section gives the thumb and forefinger more surface to press against than a straight shaft. You turn the screw with controlled torque rather than pinching hard.
Ground flat blade
We grind the 1.40 mm tip with parallel faces so it fills the screw slot across its full depth. That keeps the edge from riding up the slot walls under turning pressure.
Free turning head
The top head spins loose on its post. Your index finger holds the tool down on the screw head while your other fingers turn the barrel without lifting the blade out.
Replacing the tip
A set screw in the side of the ferrule clamps the blade stock. Back it out with a smaller driver when the blade is worn, slide in a replacement, and tighten down.
