We shape the bulb of the 4657 to fit the palm cleanly for controlled puffs of dry air. A rear intake valve draws fresh air through the base rather than pulling bench debris back down the tip. The soft nozzle clears loose dust from plates and wheels before assembly begins.
The rear valve
Air enters through the bottom inlet rather than the front nozzle. This keeps loose dust on the mat from being drawn inside the bulb when you release your grip.
The soft nozzle
We form the tip from PVC so accidental contact with a bridge or pinion does not mark the metal. The narrow bore directs a concentrated stream onto small pivots and jewels.
The bulb body
The rubber bulb refills promptly after each squeeze. Its rounded profile rests upright on the bench without rolling into your hand tools or parts trays.
Cleaning the bore
Wipe the PVC nozzle with a dry cloth before bringing it over an open movement. Keep the rear intake clear of bench paper shavings and grease.

Keeping the bench clean
Cleaning putty and what it lifts, why solvents are kept away from some surfaces, the point of a bench mat and a tray with a lip, cloths and brushes, and how tools are put away so the next job starts on a clear board.
