A strap that needs an extra hole requires a clean shear rather than a torn edge. We fit reference 31228 with interchangeable cutters sized at 1.60 mm and 2.00 mm. The plier action closes the cutting tube directly through leather, woven fabric, or rubber stock against the anvil face.
Interchangeable cutters
We supply cutting tubes in 1.60 mm and 2.00 mm diameters. The cutter mounts into the upper jaw, letting you match the factory sizing on standard leather and rubber straps before punching.
Plier jaw action
The lever arms draw the upper jaw straight down against the lower anvil. Steady hand pressure drives the sharpened hollow tube cleanly through the strap material rather than stretching the grain.
Working with strap materials
Leather, fabric, and rubber bands respond differently under a cutter. Setting the strap flat across the anvil keeps the new hole square to the surface and aligned with the original run.
Replacing the cutter
The cutting tips unscrew from the upper frame when dull or when swapping between sizes. Keep the anvil surface clear of debris so the cutting edge seats evenly across each stroke.
