What it isA spare part for a tool you already have
Bench jobChanging a strap or bracelet

This spare fork replaces a worn or altered tip on our 6825 bracelet pliers. We shape the 1 mm working end for tight spring bar access holes in modern metal bracelets. It seats directly into the plier jaw and locks with the existing clamping screw.

Narrow fork profile

The working end measures 1 mm across the tines. This narrow reach enters the tight access cutouts found on modern solid end links, catching the collar of the spring bar cleanly.

Fitting the pliers

We turn the shank to seat into the jaw of our 6825 pliers. Slide the stem into the plier arm, orient the fork flat against the lug face, and tighten the holding screw on the plier body.

Dressed steel tines

The notch between the tines is cut square so it bears against the flange of the spring bar rather than riding over it. The outer flats stay smooth to pass through bracelet openings.

Individual replacement

Supplied as an individual fork. When one side of a plier set wears down or takes a burr from heavy use, you can replace that single point without discarding the companion tip.

A note that touches this tool

Changing a strap at the lugs

The order of work when a strap or bracelet comes off: which end of the spring bar tool does what, the difference between a fork end and a pin end, drilled lugs against closed lugs, and why the bracelet is held rather than gripped.
