Driving pins bear the direct thrust against stubborn link friction pipes and will bend under uneven hand pressure. We turn the 7230-G08 to a 0.80 mm diameter to renew the working tip of your bracelet tool. Keep spares in the bench drawer before sizing heavy links.
The working tip
The 0.80 mm pin face meets the link pin squarely to drive it through the sleeve. Keep the line of travel straight to avoid loading the slender shank sideways against the link wall.
Seating in the tool
This pin fits into the threaded spindle of the 7230 body. Back off the worn point, seat the replacement into the nose, and secure it so the assembly turns true on its central axis.
Matching the link hole
Choose the 0.80 mm size when bracelet pin channels match this dimension. A pin too wide will wedge against the link wall, while one too narrow will drift off the center of the friction tube.
Replacing a bent point
Driving points are consumable items on the bracelet bench. When a pin takes a set from a seized link, unscrew it from the spindle immediately rather than trying to hammer it straight.
