We turn this balance roller tool in punch form to lift the table cleanly from the balance staff. The body takes the drive from the stake while the bored punch supports the pivot beneath. It accepts both wrist and pocket watch balances.
The bored punches
We supply two interchangeable punches bored to 0.1 mm and 0.2 mm. The opening clears the staff pivot so the face pushes squarely on the shoulder rather than touching the fragile tip.
Punch shape body
The outer form follows a standard staking punch profile. It sits true under light hammer taps at the staking tool, delivering vertical force directly down the axis of the staff.
Setting the roller
The tool separates single and double rollers from the staff arbor. The face supports the balance wheel while the selected punch presses the arbor through the roller hole without lateral twist.
Bench care
Keep the broached holes clear of dry grease and metal dust with dry pegwood. Store the body with its punches in a dry block to keep the fine openings free of rust.
