What it isSomething that holds the work
Bench jobChanging a strap or bracelet

We mold this support block to seat watch bands and bracelet segments while you drive pins or adjust clasps. The soft synthetic body absorbs the downward tap from a pin pusher instead of bouncing the work back up. It sits flat beside your staking set or mat, numbered 6744-P1 in our bracelet tool range.

Soft body material

We cast the block from a yielding synthetic that cushions metal links under the mallet. The material gives slightly beneath the links so the bracelet stays planted while the drift punch clears the hole.

Groove profile and seating

Recessed channels across the face hold links on edge or flat. The band rests deep enough in the slot to keep from tipping sideways when you align a pin pusher over the split sleeve.

Bench stability

The broad base rests directly on the work mat without rocking. It remains where you set it next to the screwdriver rack, providing a dedicated station for strap adjustments and sizing jobs.

Workshop care

Metal swarf and stray dust wipe clear with a dry cloth or Rodico. Keep the slots free of loose grit so polished link sides contact only the clean synthetic face of the block.

Changing a strap at the lugs

The order of work when a strap or bracelet comes off: which end of the spring bar tool does what, the difference between a fork end and a pin end, drilled lugs against closed lugs, and why the bracelet is held rather than gripped.
