We grind this replacement forked tip with a 0.80mm opening for working between narrow lug shoulders. It threads directly into our spring bar tool body when your current point develops burrs or thins out. Keep a spare point dry in a bench drawer until it is needed.
The 0.80mm fork profile
We mill the fork to an 0.80mm gap so the tines catch the collar of a spring bar cleanly. The profile is slim to pass through tight gaps in solid end links.
Threading into the handle
The base is threaded to seat squarely against the shoulder of our spring bar tool handle. Tighten it down with clean bench paper over your fingers so the threads bite true.
Replacing a worn edge
Tips wear and take burrs as they bear against steel lugs and spring shoulders. When the fork edges round out or widen, unscrew the old point and seat this replacement.
Care on the bench
Keep the steel tines free of oil and debris so they do not collect grit from bracelet recesses. Store the tip in its capsule until you spin it onto the tool body.

Changing a strap at the lugs
The order of work when a strap or bracelet comes off: which end of the spring bar tool does what, the difference between a fork end and a pin end, drilled lugs against closed lugs, and why the bracelet is held rather than gripped.
