We turn this handle from stainless steel and fit it with a 3 mm cross blade. The flat sides of the cruciform tip meet the screw recesses squarely. Your forefinger rests on the rotating head while thumb and finger turn the knurled body beneath.
Cruciform blade geometry
The 3 mm cross tip is ground to seat down into recessed screw heads without riding up the walls. When the driver is held upright, the wings engage across the full diameter of the slot.
Handle and grip
The cylindrical body is cut with fine knurling where your index finger and thumb take hold. Stainless steel gives the shaft enough mass to stay steady without loading the fingertips during repetitive assembly.
Swivel head action
The cap turns freely on the top of the ferrule. You hold down with one finger to keep the blade in the recess while turning the body below, keeping axial pressure constant through the turn.
Replacing the blade
A set screw in the side of the ferrule secures the cross blade in the shank. Backing it out releases the stem so a fresh tip can be seated and locked down flush.

A note that touches this tool
Reading a catalogue number
What the parts of a Bergeon reference number mean, why the number is how a tool is asked for, how a suffix marks a size or a variant of the same family, and how to find the spare blade for a handle you already own.
Choosing a blade width
Why a screwdriver is chosen by the width of its blade rather than by its name, what happens to a screw head when the blade is a step too narrow, how the blades are stepped through the range, and how a worn blade is dressed or swapped.
