Closing a barrel drum by hand can tilt the cover and bind the arbor. We turn the base of our 7922 with a central bore that locates the drum in the middle of the lower shell. You press the top cover down to snap the lid home flat.
Central locating bore
The black lower shell receives the barrel over a central bore. The drum locates in the center of the seat so force meets the rim square.
Upper pressing cover
The plastic top cover meets the barrel lid across its full face. Hand pressure drives the cover straight down into the recess of the drum.
Even lid seating
A tilted barrel cover binds the arbor pivot. Pressing the two shells together seats the cover edge around the entire perimeter at the same moment.
Bench storage
The two halves nest together when not in use. Keep the working faces clean of dried oil and metal filings before placing a cleaned barrel inside.
