We turn the body of the 5767-S from solid metal and finish it in black. The tool carries a 3 mm fork end shaped to catch the shoulder of a spring bar between the case lugs. It gives the fingers a steady barrel to hold when working close to finished metal.
The 3 mm fork end
The working fork measures 3 mm across. We grind the notch to catch the flange of the spring bar cleanly so you can compress the pivot without pressing against the inner lug wall.
Turned metal barrel
The handle is metal with a black finish. It gives you a firm, cylindrical grip between the thumb and forefinger while you compress the spring and guide the bar out.
Threading and tip replacement
Both ends accept threaded points from the 5767 line. When a fork shows wear or burrs from hard use, unscrew the old tip from the ferrule and thread in a fresh one.
Bracelet and strap work
Use the tool to seat and release bars on metal bracelets and heavy leather bands. The fork straddles the bar shoulder so you can draw the pivot clear of the lug hole.

Changing a strap at the lugs
The order of work when a strap or bracelet comes off: which end of the spring bar tool does what, the difference between a fork end and a pin end, drilled lugs against closed lugs, and why the bracelet is held rather than gripped.
