Bench jobWorking on the movement

We grind this 0.60mm replacement blade for our 30080 series watchmaker screwdrivers. Movement screws at this gauge have narrow slots that leave little margin for a chipped flank. Swapping a worn point restores the parallel contact face before work continues at the plate.

The blade profile

We finish the 0.60mm flat tip with parallel flanks rather than a wedge. The faces seat deep into the screw slot to bear torque across the entire slot wall instead of riding the top edge.

Fitting the shank

The cylindrical shank slides into the barrel of your 30080 screwdriver. Back off the side grub screw on the handle body, seat the replacement blade fully, and tighten the screw against the flat to secure it.

Movement screw work

At 0.60mm, this tip fits the small bridge and spring screws found in compact calibres. Keeping fresh blades on the bench means you can dress or replace an edge the moment a corner rounds.

Storage on the bench

Keep spare tips in their tube or inside the central well of your rotating screwdriver carousel. Storing them dry and apart preserves the ground corners until you insert them into a handle.

Reading a catalogue number

What the parts of a Bergeon reference number mean, why the number is how a tool is asked for, how a suffix marks a size or a variant of the same family, and how to find the spare blade for a handle you already own.

Choosing a blade width

Why a screwdriver is chosen by the width of its blade rather than by its name, what happens to a screw head when the blade is a step too narrow, how the blades are stepped through the range, and how a worn blade is dressed or swapped.
