A case goes into the dry chamber before you introduce water pressure. We mount this tester on a heavy cast base so it stays seated on the bench while you build pressure. The clear cylinder accepts two cased movements suspended above the water line.
Plexiglas cylinder
The transparent wall lets you watch the case seams and crystal edge as air escapes under pressure. Double seals seat the tube against the metal hardware to hold the charge.
Chamber diameter
The top opening measures 64mm across. That clearance gives enough room to lower two watch cases onto the hook without knocking the gaskets against the rim.
Air pressure system
You pump air into the sealed column above the water bath, then submerge the cases once the pressure stabilizes. Any defect shows as a stream of bubbles.
Cast metal base
The footing is broad and cast heavy so the apparatus does not tip while you turn the control valve or lower the suspension rod into the fluid.

Keeping the bench clean
Cleaning putty and what it lifts, why solvents are kept away from some surfaces, the point of a bench mat and a tray with a lip, cloths and brushes, and how tools are put away so the next job starts on a clear board.
