We turn the body of our 2611-TN loupe to fit the orbital bone so it stays put while both hands stay on the movement. The 25 mm biconvex glass lens sits clear of the skin, with an air opening to let moisture vent away from the optic during close assembly work.
Biconvex glass optic
The 25 mm glass lens gives a wide, undistorted field across the dial or mainplate. We seat the glass square in the barrel so you can inspect pivot holes without tilting your head off axis.
Vented body shell
A small port through the lightweight wall lets warm air escape before it can mist the inner face of the glass. The matte black finish inside cuts internal reflections under the bench lamp.
Fit in the orbit
We shape the wide rear rim with a smooth curve that rests against the brow and cheekbone without sharp contact points. You can hold it with a slight squint or run an eyeglass wire over the groove.
Care at the bench
Keep the glass clean by wiping it with a dry lens cloth or a dab of elder pith. When you step away from the bench, set the loupe face down on its wide skirt so the optical face never touches the wood.
