Movement screws need an exact fit in the slot so the drive walls take the turn evenly. We grind these replacement blades for our 6899 series drivers to match the original 1.6 mm width. When a tip chips or wears down at the bench, loosen the set screw in the ferrule and seat a fresh blade.
The blade profile
We grind the parallel flats to slide down to the bottom of a 1.6 mm screw slot. The faces bear squarely against the slot walls rather than wedging at the top edges.
Replacing a worn tip
A single grub screw in the screwdriver ferrule locks the shank in place. Back the screw out half a turn to drop the spent blade and slide the replacement straight into the bore.
The stainless steel
We shape these replacement pieces from stainless steel so they resist shop moisture at the bench. The metal holds its dressed profile through steady assembly work on plates and bridges.
