Concave crystal face

One side is dished inward so a watch with a domed crystal rests on its perimeter rather than bearing down on the center of the glass. The curve accommodates crystals while you apply downward torque to a threaded caseback.

Reverse storage recess

Turn the block over to expose a central compartment. It collects case screws, clamps, and loose bridge hardware right at the work position so small parts stay off the bench mat until you are ready to set them back in.
