The watch face rests face-down on this pad while you open the case back or set screws. We build the 5394-P with a soft top surface bounded by an outer metal ring. The circular profile keeps the support steady on the mat while the case sits clear of the hard bench top.
Pad diameter
The 53mm working face supports broader watch cases across the crystal and bezel. The diameter leaves enough room for modern case profiles to seat flat during back removal.
Outer metal ring
A firm metal ring wraps the perimeter of the cushion. It holds the circular form under hand pressure so the soft core does not spread outward across the bench.
Soft resting surface
We leave the central face soft where the crystal and bezel rest. The material gives slightly under downward force when you work with case keys or case back knives.
Bench placement
The cushion sits flat on top of your bench mat near the vise. It moves aside when you clear the space, and stays where you put it while you work.
