What it isA tool in its own right
Bench jobOpening and closing a case

We build the 4266 crystal lift for removing and setting tension-ring and round unbreakable acrylic crystals. The circular jaws close evenly around the rim as you turn the knurled knob, reducing the diameter so the crystal clears the bezel groove. It sits upright on the bench plate when not in use.

Curved steel jaws

The multiple gripping fingers close in unison around the acrylic perimeter. Their inward curve catches the edge cleanly, distributing the mechanical compression around the whole diameter rather than pinching opposite sides.

Knurled adjustment knob

You control the jaw travel by turning the upper knurled body. The fine mechanical thread lets you feel the exact amount of dome compression as you seat or lift the acrylic.

Working range

This tool accommodates round crystals from 10 to 45 mm. It accepts small vintage cocktail watch crystals as well as broad pocket watch glasses without swapping jaw inserts.

Setting base plate

The flat metal plate keeps the jaws expanded and level while you position a replacement crystal. You lower the tool onto the plate, align the acrylic edge, and close the jaws squarely.

Opening a stubborn case back

Snap backs against screw backs against monobloc cases, how a case key and its dies engage a fluted rim, why the case is held in a holder rather than in the hand, and what to do when the back has been opened badly before.
