| Bench job | Changing a strap or bracelet |
Fork tips round off or spread after steady strap work. We thread this replacement flat tip directly into the handle of our 3153 tool body, keeping the original handle on the bench. The fork profile engages shoulder flanges on standard spring bars without needing a whole new tool.
The fork profile
We cut this flat tip with a central notch to catch the flange of standard spring bars. The flat sides slip between leather or rubber straps and the inner face of the lug.
Threaded shank fit
The threaded end mates with our 3153 tool body. When a tip wears from daily strap changes, you unscrew the old point and seat this one firmly against the handle collar.
Replacing worn steel
Edges lose their bite over time against hard lug recesses. Swapping only the working tip preserves the knurled handle you are used to holding and keeps the bench running.
Bench maintenance
Keep spare points dry in a compartment box until needed. Clean away strap grime and skin oils before seating the new tip so the handle threads stay true and clean.

A note that touches this tool
Changing a strap at the lugs
The order of work when a strap or bracelet comes off: which end of the spring bar tool does what, the difference between a fork end and a pin end, drilled lugs against closed lugs, and why the bracelet is held rather than gripped.
