We shape the 16918-TETC specifically for separating the stud within the Etachron regulating system. The black finish cuts down on glare under the bench lamp. It sits ready in your rack when adjusting balance springs and hairspring studs.
Fork tip profile
The working end carries a ground fork profile sized to engage the Etachron stud directly. It lets you apply straight downward pressure to back the stud out of its carrier without twisting the hairspring.
Black body finish
We give the body a black coating across its entire length. The dark surface eliminates reflections from direct bench lighting while you look through the loupe at the regulator assembly.
Handle and grip
The solid body provides a direct tactile feel between the fingers. You control the pressing force through a steady grip, keeping the tip aligned with the stud seat as you apply pressure.
Storage and maintenance
Keep the tool in a slotted wooden block or dedicated tray at the bench. Wipe the working fork clean of old grease and debris with pegwood or pithwood before setting it against a clean balance bridge.
