Large movements need a broad base that stays flat when you apply downward force with a screwdriver. We machine the central slide of the 30211 to accept movements from 25mm to 62mm across the plates. The jaws reverse to present alternative stepped profiles for different mainplate shoulders.
Reversible jaws
The stepped jaws flip to offer different seating ledges. One orientation accepts wide pocket watch bridges, while the reverse side accommodates narrower rim profiles without pressing against the balance assembly or escapement components.
Sliding range
A threaded center screw draws the jaws smoothly between 25mm and 62mm. The travel allows direct fitting to larger calibres, keeping the mainplate supported across its full diameter while you work on the train.
Bench stability
The broad metallic base sits flat on the mat and resists tipping during heavy winding or bridge screw removal. Mass in the body helps absorb vibration when setting friction components into the plates.
Lip engagement
Each jaw lip is cut square to grip the rim of the mainplate directly. The flat seating keeps the dial side clear of the bench surface when the movement is resting inverted.
