We cut the bodies of our pin vices to give the fingers purchase when twisting or filing small stock. This pattern carries two collets to take round wire and square stems across a working range. It sits flat on the mat without rolling away while you change tools.
Reversible chuck jaws
Each end houses a split chuck that flips to take a different diameter. You loosen the knurled cap, turn the collet around, and tighten it down over the piece.
Fluted brass body
The central barrel is cut with parallel flutes rather than cross knurling. It turns between the thumb and forefinger without grabbing skin during delicate filing operations.
Round head caps
Both ends terminate in rounded nuts that close the jaws down evenly. The shape sits comfortably against the palm when applying light axial pressure along a pivot.
Stock and wire holding
The jaws take stems, broaches, and small drills directly at the bench. You tighten the cap by hand to hold round or square section pieces centered.
