| What it is | A tool in its own right |
| Bench job | Opening and closing a case |
We shape the tip of this pen tool for wiping flat and curved crystals, dials, and loupes without handling them with loose cloths. It holds like a pencil. That lets you work across the glass or near set stones right before closing the case.
Cleaning the crystal
The tip clears smudges, dust, and light haze from the inner and outer surfaces of the crystal during final inspection. It addresses the glass directly so you do not drag loose material across the bezel.
Work on dials
The head runs across flat dial faces and around set stones to lift loose film. You guide the tip precisely between markers where a folded wipe is difficult to place without disturbing surrounding components.
Bench loupe maintenance
We also use this cleaner on our loupe optics. Glass eyepieces collect oil and bench dust during the day, and the shaped tip clears the lens aperture clean to the edge without disassembly.
Handling and control
The pen body sits between the thumb and forefinger like a drafting pen. You apply light, even pressure with the tip rather than gripping a bulky rag near the movement.

Opening a stubborn case back
Snap backs against screw backs against monobloc cases, how a case key and its dies engage a fluted rim, why the case is held in a holder rather than in the hand, and what to do when the back has been opened badly before.
