We mold this eyeglass body in white plastic and mount a biconvex lens for inspecting small escapement parts and balance pivots. The shape sits in the eye socket while you hold your tweezers. A port through the side allows air to move freely past the optic.

Biconvex lens optic

A biconvex glass lens sits seated in the rim to bring fine train wheel teeth and pallet stones into view. The curve provides a sharp field across the center of your work.

Side ventilation port

We pierce the plastic cup with a vent hole near the rim. Air moves behind the glass so breath and heat do not cloud the inner face while you lean over the movement.

Molded white body

The body is turned from plain white plastic rather than dark composite. It reflects bench light back into the workspace and sits lightly against the brow without heavy clamping pressure.

Bench eye fit
