We fit this 1.6 mm screwdriver with a conical non-magnetic blade in Declafor 1015 for movement work where steel tools might pick up stray magnetism. The anodised aluminium body keeps the tool light between your fingers. A self-lubricating POM head turns smooth under the index finger while you drive.
Non-magnetic Declafor blade
We grind the 1.6 mm conical blade from Declafor 1015 alloy. It does not carry magnetism into the movement, keeping hairsprings and delicate escapement parts undisturbed during assembly.
Anodised aluminium handle
The handle is turned from aluminium and finished with hard anodising. Knurled bands give purchase for your thumb and forefinger without needing excess grip pressure while turning bridge screws.
Self-lubricating POM head
The plain swivel head uses POM synthetic material that lubricates itself as it turns. Your forefinger rests on top to hold downward pressure while the handle rotates beneath it without drag.
Replacing worn blades
A side set screw locks the blade shank straight in the driver nose. Loosen the screw to pull a worn tip and slip a fresh replacement into the bore.

A note that touches this tool
Reading a catalogue number
What the parts of a Bergeon reference number mean, why the number is how a tool is asked for, how a suffix marks a size or a variant of the same family, and how to find the spare blade for a handle you already own.
Choosing a blade width
Why a screwdriver is chosen by the width of its blade rather than by its name, what happens to a screw head when the blade is a step too narrow, how the blades are stepped through the range, and how a worn blade is dressed or swapped.
