| What it is | A tool in its own right |
| Bench job | Working on the movement |
We turn the body of this 2.00 mm driver from anodised aluminium to keep it light in the fingers. The conical blade is ground from non-magnetic Declafor 1015 for work around hairsprings and balance assemblies. At the top, a self-lubricating POM synthetic head rotates under the forefinger as you drive the thread.
Declafor 1015 blade
We grind the conical 2.00 mm blade from Declafor 1015 alloy. It does not carry magnetism into the movement when you seat bridge screws or work near the escapement.
Anodised aluminium body
The barrel is turned from aluminium and finished with an anodised surface. It carries our knurling along the lower section so your fingertips find purchase without requiring heavy pinch pressure.
Self-lubricating POM head
The plain swivel head is machined from POM synthetic material. It runs smoothly against the driver body without oil, letting your index finger steady the tool while your thumb and middle finger turn.
Blade replacement
A set screw on the side of the barrel locks the blade in place. Back it out when the tip shows wear, slide the old shank free, and seat a fresh 2.00 mm point square.

A note that touches this tool
Reading a catalogue number
What the parts of a Bergeon reference number mean, why the number is how a tool is asked for, how a suffix marks a size or a variant of the same family, and how to find the spare blade for a handle you already own.
Choosing a blade width
Why a screwdriver is chosen by the width of its blade rather than by its name, what happens to a screw head when the blade is a step too narrow, how the blades are stepped through the range, and how a worn blade is dressed or swapped.
