Handling a fresh cell with steel tweezers risks shorting the charge across the contacts. We mold the 55-043 from plastic to keep the tips non-conductive and non-magnetic. The arms remain light in the fingers while setting power cells into the movement cavity.
Flexible plastic tips
The tips give slightly under finger pressure rather than biting into soft coatings or cell casings. They seat flat against round edges when seating a battery.
Non-conductive body
Plastic does not bridge the positive and negative poles of a cell during placement. The material stays inert across open circuitry and quartz contact springs.
Non-magnetic handling
No magnetic pull develops in the arms or points. Tiny steel screws and insulators near the battery clamp will not jump toward the tips as you work.
Care and bench storage
Keep the tips away from heat sources and solvent baths. Wipe them clean with a dry cloth so grease does not transfer onto clean electrical contacts.
