| What it is | A spare part for a tool you already have |
| Bench job | Changing a strap or bracelet |
This spare fork threads directly into the handle of our 6767 spring bar tool when an original tip wears down or breaks. We shape the prongs to catch the shoulder of a spring bar between the watch lug and strap. Keep a spare in the bench drawer so strap changes are not interrupted.
The fork profile
We mill the two prongs with an open notch to straddle the spring bar pivot and seat against the shoulder. The profile slips between the strap material and the inside face of the watch lug.
Threaded shank
The rear of the tip carries a cut thread matching the socket of our 6767 handle. It turns in by hand and snugs down against the knurled ferrule to stay rigid under working pressure.
Replacing a worn tip
A tip that has burred or bent from heavy bracelet work unscrews cleanly from the handle body. Thread this replacement in until the shoulder seats, with no need to replace the entire handle.
Storage at the bench
We recommend keeping replacement tips in their original small vial or a compartmentalized bench tray. Loose tips rattling together in a drawer will nick the ground edges of the prongs.

A note that touches this tool
Changing a strap at the lugs
The order of work when a strap or bracelet comes off: which end of the spring bar tool does what, the difference between a fork end and a pin end, drilled lugs against closed lugs, and why the bracelet is held rather than gripped.
