| What it is | A tool in its own right |
| Bench job | Working on the movement |
The 1.00mm driver handles small bridge and cock screws across standard movements. We turn the barrel from metal with fine knurling for grip, then seat a flat blade held by a side set screw. The smooth swivel head lets your index finger keep steady downward pressure while your thumb and middle finger turn the barrel.
Parallel ground tip
The 1.00mm blade features flat, parallel faces rather than a tapered wedge. This shape fills the screw slot evenly across its depth, keeping contact low in the recess instead of riding the top edge.
Swivel head cap
The colored cap rotates freely on the handle end. Your forefinger stays still on top to maintain steady vertical contact while your lower fingers spin the knurled barrel through the turn.
Replacing worn blades
A small set screw in the ferrule clamps the blade shank. When a tip dulls or chips on a stubborn screw, loosen that screw, slide the old blade out, and seat a fresh 1.00mm replacement.
Handle knurling
The barrel carries crisp cross-hatch knurling along the gripping section. It gives positive purchase between the fingertips without requiring heavy pinch force when turning delicate movement components.

A note that touches this tool
Reading a catalogue number
What the parts of a Bergeon reference number mean, why the number is how a tool is asked for, how a suffix marks a size or a variant of the same family, and how to find the spare blade for a handle you already own.
Choosing a blade width
Why a screwdriver is chosen by the width of its blade rather than by its name, what happens to a screw head when the blade is a step too narrow, how the blades are stepped through the range, and how a worn blade is dressed or swapped.
