What it isA tool in its own right
Bench jobWorking on the movement

We assemble this set around the core sizes needed across the movement plates. Each driver pairs a stainless steel body with a soft elastomer grip band and a synthetic Delrin head. The selection covers sizes from 0.80 mm through 1.60 mm and rests in a clear pouch for the bench drawer.

Stainless steel body

We machine the barrel from stainless steel and sleeve the grip section in a soft elastomer band. The knurled transition gives your fingertips purchase when breaking a stubborn screw free or running down fine threads.

Synthetic Delrin head

The swivel head runs on POM synthetic material that lubricates itself during turning. You rest your index finger on the smooth dome while the body turns underneath without binding.

Five movement sizes

The selection spans 0.80 mm, 1.00 mm, 1.20 mm, 1.40 mm, and 1.60 mm. These diameters cover the bridges, train wheels, balance cocks, and set-lever screws found across typical mechanical calibres.

Replacing worn blades

Each blade locks into the nose with a small grub screw. When a tip chips or loses its parallel profile, loosen the side screw with a second driver, seat a fresh blade, and tighten the collar down.

Reading a catalogue number

What the parts of a Bergeon reference number mean, why the number is how a tool is asked for, how a suffix marks a size or a variant of the same family, and how to find the spare blade for a handle you already own.

Choosing a blade width

Why a screwdriver is chosen by the width of its blade rather than by its name, what happens to a screw head when the blade is a step too narrow, how the blades are stepped through the range, and how a worn blade is dressed or swapped.
