A worn screwdriver blade burrs screw slots and slips under load. We grind these 1.00 mm spare blades to fit our 6899 series movement screwdrivers. You loosen the set screw on the handle body, slide the old blade out, and seat this one flush against the collar before retightening.
Blade profile
We grind the 1.00 mm tip with parallel flats so it sits square in the screw slot. It fills the slot across its full depth instead of wedging at the top corners.
Changing the tip
Loosen the side screw on the driver barrel with an auxiliary tool. The spent tip slides out freely, and the fresh shank seats directly into the bore without force.
Movement screw work
At 1.00 mm, this blade matches common bridge screws and balance cock screws. Keep the flats square on the stone during maintenance to maintain the profile.
Box storage
The spare blades rest in a labelled plastic tube to keep them separated on the bench. You can store the box in the carousel base or keep it in a drawer.
