What it isA tool in its own right
Bench jobWorking on the movement

Four plastic oilers graduated across distinct tip sizes sit ready on the movement bench. We mold each handle in a distinct color so you can switch between lubricants without confusing the reservoir. The small spoon tip picks up the drop and deposits it into the cup of the jewel.

Color coded handles

The handles are molded in red, blue, green, and yellow. A glance lets you identify the fine tip from the heavier sizes when moving between train jewels, balance settings, and mainspring barrels across the movement.

Shaped paddle tips

Each tip is formed to retain oil by capillary action until it touches the jewel surface. The paddle profile holds a consistent bead of lubricant so you can place it without spreading excess fluid across the plate.

Plastic handle body

The plastic construction provides a light stem between your fingers. It holds steady as you guide the point down through the bridge apertures toward the endstones and cap jewels.

Storage and cleaning

Pith wood or dry elder pith cleans the tips between lubrications. Store them flat or in a stand to keep dust and stray bench matter off the working ends.

Oilers, cups and how much goes on

Why oilers come in graded sizes, what an oil cup with a lid is for, why the oil is picked up from the cup and not from the bottle, how a jewel takes a drop, and how oilers are cleaned between grades.
