Bench jobWorking on the movement

A dry rubber gasket will pinch in its seat when a case back turns down against it. We formulate 2588-50 silicon microlubricant to wet case packings, winding crowns, and chronograph pushers before closing the housing. It resists pressure and leaves a barrier against rust along steel threads and tubes.

Silicon base

The compound coats rubber and synthetic elastomers so they slide into place rather than bind. It stays where an oiler deposits it along the channel without creeping onto the movement plates.

Sealing the pushers

Chronograph pushers and winding stems pass through case tubes where moisture gathers. Working a small film onto the internal o-rings lubricates the sliding contact and resists rust on the metal surfaces.

Pressure resistance

The grease maintains its body under pressure between the case back and the case body. It fills microscopic voids along the mating surfaces without washing out or turning thin under normal bench temperatures.

Bench storage

We supply 2588-50 in a closed container to keep bench dust and filings out of the grease. Take a small quantity onto an oiler or a pegwood point and close the lid immediately.
