Bench jobFitting hands

Setting watch hands requires straight downward pressure without marring polished or painted hands. We make the 7404 hand setting tools with knurled metal bodies and fitted synthetic tips. Each tip carries a bore sized to clear the center post while seating the pipe firmly home.

Synthetic tip faces

The working ends are turned from synthetic material that yields slightly under load. The face bears against the hand boss without leaving tool marks on plated or painted surfaces.

Knurled body grip

We cut straight knurling into the metal body where the fingers rest. The grip allows vertical alignment over the dial without slipping as you apply downward pressure.

Bored tips

The tips feature central bores to clear the central pinion or seconds pivot. This geometry seats the hand pipe squarely around the arbor without bearing on the post itself.

Tip replacement

Synthetic tips wear over time as hands are pressed into place. Worn tips pull free from the metal holders so fresh tips can be seated directly into the tool ends.
