This is the replacement 3.0mm fork for our 3153 spring bar tool handle. When a fork edge rounds off from continuous work between lugs, you thread out the spent point and seat this one into the ferrule. It gives the broad contact needed for standard leather straps and accessible spring bar shoulders.
Wide fork profile
The 3.0mm span fits across wider spring bar collars and between leather strap notches. Its inner notch straddles the pivot pin so the working edges press against the shoulder instead of sliding off the sleeve.
Threaded shank fit
The shank threads directly into the knurled body of the 3153 tool. It seats square against the internal stop so the tip remains rigid when you compress a stiff spring bar inside the lug recess.
Dressed working edges
We grind the two fork prongs thin enough to wedge between strap leather and the inner lug wall. The metal face is dressed smooth to avoid biting into soft strap materials during compression.
Replacing the tip
To swap a worn fork, unscrew it from the tool handle by hand or with smooth pliers over bench paper. Thread the new 3.0mm point in until it seats firm against the collar.

A note that touches this tool
Changing a strap at the lugs
The order of work when a strap or bracelet comes off: which end of the spring bar tool does what, the difference between a fork end and a pin end, drilled lugs against closed lugs, and why the bracelet is held rather than gripped.
