What it isA tool in its own right
Bench jobChanging a strap or bracelet

We turn this body from solid stainless steel for changing bracelets and fitting leather straps at the bench. One end accepts our 3mm wide fork while the opposite end holds a 0.8mm round point. You turn the barrel between your fingers to switch ends as you work along the lug holes.

Reversible working ends

One end carries a 3mm wide fork shaped to catch the shoulder of a spring bar between the lugs. The reverse holds a 0.8mm point for pressing drilled lug holes or pushing pins through bracelet links.

Turned stainless body

The solid stainless steel handle provides a firm weight in your fingers. Fine knurling across the grip keeps the barrel from rolling under your fingertips while you position the fork against the spring bar shoulder.

Sizing the tips

The 3mm fork matches standard spring bar flanges found on leather bands and wider end links. For drilled cases, the 0.8mm cylindrical point enters the hole cleanly without binding along the side of the bore.

Replacing worn ends

Both ends thread into the steel barrel so you can remove a worn tip without discarding the handle. Keep the threads free of dried oil and grit when swapping in fresh components.

Changing a strap at the lugs

The order of work when a strap or bracelet comes off: which end of the spring bar tool does what, the difference between a fork end and a pin end, drilled lugs against closed lugs, and why the bracelet is held rather than gripped.
