What it isA spare part for a tool you already have
Bench jobWorking on the movement

A screwdriver blade dulls or notches after steady movement work, and grinding it back eventually shortens the reach. We grind these straight flat steel spares to replace worn tips in our 30080 and 30081 handles. Each blade fits the ferrule set screw directly, letting you restore a clean edge at the bench without replacing the body of the tool.

Straight flat profile

We grind the parallel faces to seat flat against the walls of a movement screw slot. The straight taper enters cleanly, taking purchase across the full width rather than riding the chamfer.

Handle compatibility

These steel blades fit into the collet of our 30080 and 30081 screwdriver handles. Loosen the side grub screw on the knurled body, pull the old blade clear, and slide the replacement fully home.

Range of sizes

We produce these spare blades in widths from 0.50 mm through to 3.00 mm. Match the blade width precisely to the screw head on the plate to avoid marring the surrounding bridge.

Bench maintenance

Keep spare tips stored dry in their tubes until needed. When an edge chips on a stubborn bridge screw, swapping the blade takes only a turn of the set screw, keeping the driver ready.

Reading a catalogue number

What the parts of a Bergeon reference number mean, why the number is how a tool is asked for, how a suffix marks a size or a variant of the same family, and how to find the spare blade for a handle you already own.

Choosing a blade width

Why a screwdriver is chosen by the width of its blade rather than by its name, what happens to a screw head when the blade is a step too narrow, how the blades are stepped through the range, and how a worn blade is dressed or swapped.
