| What it is | A tool in its own right |
| Bench job | Fitting hands |
We turn this tool between the fingers to wind mechanical movements after casing or bench regulation. The barrel is anodized aluminum, fitted with a soft elastomer insert that takes crowns from 2.5 mm up to 10.0 mm. It seats over the fluting and holds firmly under light axial pressure.
Elastomer cup profile
The internal elastomer insert yields to domed, flat, and fluted crown profiles across the 2.5 mm to 10.0 mm span. It conforms to the knurling under light pressure rather than binding against it.
Anodized aluminum barrel
We turn the main body from aluminum and anodize the surface. The knurled barrel provides a steady purchase between thumb and forefinger when taking up a mainspring from zero to full wind.
Grip on the crown
The pliable core grips the outer edge of the crown firmly as you rotate the stick. You feel the resistance of the mainspring click over the ratchet wheel directly in your fingers.
Bench use and storage
Keep the elastomer insert wiped clear of bench dust and excess grease with dry tissue. The tool rests flat on the mat or in a wooden rack between regulation cycles.
