What it isA tool in its own right
Bench jobFitting hands

We cut our 6938 dial suits from a thin, resistant synthetic sheet measuring 0.15 mm. The film slides directly over the dial face before levers or lifters are brought down on the hand bosses. It sits flat between the movement face and the lifting edges while you clear the cannon pinion.

Sheet material

We form the suit from a resistant synthetic stock. It flexes under hand levers without tearing and remains clean across repeated bench jobs.

Working thickness

The film measures 0.15 mm across its section. This profile allows the suit to slide into the narrow clearance between the bottom of the hour hand and the dial surface.

Positioning the cutout

The central cutout fits around the center wheel pinion. You slide the sheet into place from the side, align the slot, and steady it with pegwood or tweezers.

Bench maintenance

Keep the synthetic sheets flat in their sleeve away from swarf and oil. Wipe any dust with dry pith wood before laying the film down onto a finished dial.
