We supply the 5500-C for setting tension ring crystals into watch cases without cocking them in the bezel. The threaded spindle drives the upper die down square to the case support. It is intended for plastic crystals rather than mineral glass.
Reversible tapered dies
Each die is turned from aluminum with a tapered profile on both faces to support the crystal rim. Sizes step from 18/19 mm through 34/35 mm so you can match the diameter of the tension ring closely.
Chrome finished aluminum
The dies carry a smooth chrome finish over aluminum. The metal stays firm under spindle pressure while the polished working face seats against the crystal without dragging across the acrylic dome.
Lower die support
The base accepts our 5500-T21 lower support to steady the case while the spindle turns. It keeps the watch level beneath the upper die so force travels straight down through the center line.
Spindle drive
A hand wheel controls the descent of the upper die. Turning the thread gives steady, progressive travel, which lets you feel the tension ring compress and seat into the case rebate.
