Movement screws require a blade that meets the slot flat along its full width. We grind these 1.4 mm replacement blades for our 30080 series screwdriver handles. When a tip wears or chips at the bench, loosening the set screw lets you slide the old blade out and seat a fresh one.
Parallel ground tip
We grind the flats parallel rather than wedge shaped so the 1.4 mm face seats deep into the screw slot. This spreads the turning force across the walls rather than pinching the top edge.
Fit in the ferrule
The shank slides directly into the sleeve of our 30080 driver handle. Tightening the small grub screw on the ferrule locks the blade true and square along the central axis of the tool.
Replacing a worn edge
Dress the tip on an India stone during ordinary use. When the profile shortens past its working depth, loosen the handle screw, pull the shank clear, and slide in a fresh blade from the tube.
Movement work
This 1.4 mm width corresponds to the grey band on our bench stand. It suits bridge screws, balance cocks, and ratchet wheel fixings where the slot width must match the steel closely.
