Two opposed jaws open along a central screw to accept calibres from small wristwatches to pocket sizes. We turn the stepped faces to give a clean ledge for the mainplate, then finish the body with sanded chromium plating. Flip the block over to use the reverse profile when a balance cock or bridge requires clearance underneath.

Stepped jaw profiles

We mill distinct steps into both jaws so the edge of the mainplate rests flat against metal without pinching delicate wheels underneath. Reversing the holder exposes a secondary profile shaped for different bridge layouts.

Central adjustment screw

The knurled thumb screw shifts the moving jaw along parallel guide rods. Turning it closes the jaws evenly against the plate edges, holding the calibre upright on the bench while you work on motion work or train bridges.

Sanded chromium finish

We chromium plate the brass body and sand the outer faces to a matte texture. The finish resists corrosion from bench oils and cleaning solutions, and the dull surface keeps bench lamp reflections low.

Support on the bench

The broad base keeps the movement level while you seat jewels, tighten bridge screws, or place dial components. It isolates the bare movement from bench debris and leaves both hands free for tweezers and screwdrivers.
