Abrasive powder is held evenly throughout this synthetic rubber block. As the block wears down under hand pressure, fresh abrasive grains surface continuously against the workpiece. We supply catalogue number 5444-A for general bench cleaning, clearing rust spots, and smoothing oxidized metal faces.
Synthetic rubber matrix
Grit is suspended directly inside a resilient binder that yields slightly under hand pressure. The compound conforms to flat faces, bevels, and light contours without gouging the stock.
Dry and wet use
The block cuts dry straight across the bench mat. Adding water, light soap, or petroleum alters the drag and changes how aggressively the grit cuts into the oxide.
Direct bench reshaping
Because the compound wears throughout, the working face stays active until the block is spent. You can trim the rubber corner with a bench knife to reach inside tight recesses.
Dimensions and storage
Measuring 80 x 50 x 20 mm, the block fits flat across the palm. Keep it dry in a tray compartment away from clean movement parts so free grit does not migrate.
